Don’t Forget to Write!

Thursday, September 18th, 2008

I went a little overboard with a cake in honor of our senior editor’s retirement. The cake is of the Shakespeare Garden, a wonderful place on the Vassar campus, and took about 4 days to make. On the sides of the cake we had lego-like depictions of all the people in the office, made from ShrinkyDinks.

Consolidated posts

Monday, September 1st, 2008

Spent some time today consolidating posts from various places — mainly MySpace and the blog at work. I pulled everything into a new install of WordPress. I also have a backup of my WordPress blog 2004-2007, but not sure I’ll work that in — primarily contains workout stats and random notes. Then again, might get me running again to see how much work I did before I went back to school.

I’m hoping to balance the personal stuff with non-personal posts. I’ve been using Twitter regularly and 140 characters just isn’t enough — and often there are threads of Twitter posts I’d like to pull together and keep for future reference. Been chatting with some great folks.

Up next: I need to go back and tag and categorize the posts to pull threads of thought together.

Change

After a couple years of growing out my hair I finally cut it back a bit.  Now just above my shoulders.  Pictures later this week.  I’m worried about Garrett’s reaction — he loves to play with my hair, especially when it’s in a ponytail, and that’s because he’d do that with his mother.  If he flips I’ll just have to reassure him that it will grow back.
